Want to find your inner rhythm & get more colour & fun in your life?

Mendip All Drummers (M.A.D) community djembe group could be just what you need.

We love to share with audiences the joy of African hand drumming, at events ranging from village days to parties, festivals & visits to schools & community groups. We have received support from both District and County councils, and we regularly appear at events across Somerset.

Why not come & join us at one of our regular meetings on Wednesday mornings from 9.30 am till 1.00 pm

Our weekly sessions are open to all ages. Previous drumming experience is not necessary as we adapt each session to the ability of the people there. Drums are available for you to use. We always have a refreshment break which is a great time to get to know the members of the group. We ask for a token sum of £4 per person to cover the cost of the hall and refreshments. These are fairly casual drop in sessions where you will be welcome to attend as often or as seldom as you like, though regular attendance and practice will be beneficial.
There are also several opportunities throughout the year to join us at our community events - click on "Where to see us" at the top of the page.

We are a small, friendly group playing mainly West African rhythms on djembes and dunduns - as well as sometimes exploring other areas of percussion, rhythm and occasional song.

Absolute beginners & more experienced players are always welcome to visit or join the group. Ring up - or send  an email to charles.johnson72@aol.co.uk & we’ll get back to you - or simply turn up on a Wednesday morning & see what we are up to.
